Set in 1997 the year Lady Diana died, twenty-five-year-old London city girl Miriam accepts the role of English teacher in a sleepy hilltop town on a Mediterranean island. Little does she know that the British teacher she is replacing has mysteriously disappeared and no one in the village seems in rush to find out her whereabouts. Recently estranged from her partner Miriam at first struggles to come to terms with her new rural home and is overcome with loneliness but a village misfit Francisco and the vibrant, rebellious RE teacher Carmen are about to change Miriam’s island experience forever while also helping her unlock the mystery of what happened to the missing teacher.
